INTRODUCTION
INTRODUCTION
African Israel Nineveh Church was founded in 1932 by Musalisi Paul David Zakayo Kivuli alias MPDZ Kivuli . He was born in 1896 at Kipsimwoti village. His father Mwenywa Inzugusi and mother Robai Kadiri loved him.He was their youngest son and his capabilities and abilities were exemplary. He had five siblings, three brothers and two sisters. The names of the children of Mwenywa or Menywa in order of birth are: Inzugusi, Rasoah Vuzilili, Mathias Muzibwanyi, Zakaria Oyiengo (half brother), Zakayo Kivuli l and Esther Mmboga. Kivuli I migrated to Gimarakwa where he taught for some time as well as he served as the Pastor of the Pentecostal. Assemblies of Canada (PAOC) at Mukuyu Church.
In 1934 he moved from Gimarakwa village and gave his piece of land to one of his cousins known as Nyabera. He then migrated to Jebrock where he settled, and called his home Nineveh in accordance to the vision he received from God. Soon God commanded him to leave PAOC and start teaching and preaching to all people beyond PAOC circle.
He prayed for the sick and called people to repentance. Many were converted to Christianity. This led to many people with various needs to trek from far distant places to come to him for prophetic messages of healing and repentance. Some of the leaders in PAOC who were suspicious of his activities and new role as a freelance Pastor betrayed him to Missionary Otto C. Keller. MPD Kivuli I was invited to Nyang'ori Mission by Mr. Otto C. Keller for interrogation about his new prayer meetings at his home. He told the PAOC leaders that God gave him a vision to preach the Good News to Nineveh people hence he was not in breach of evangelizing the world for Christ.
By 1941, MPD Kivuli l's religious activities had spread to distant lands culminating into Huru salvation, Huru Israel and eventually African Israel Church Nineveh and or African Israel Nineveh Church as is commonly known. In 1942, Mr. Otto Keller officially released him from PAOC to proceed with ministry independently at Nineveh which eventually turned into the Headquarters of his Nineveh Ministries. Nineveh Ministry gave birth parts of the country in Nairobi, Bunyore, Bukura, Mombasa, Kericho, Kisumu, Kitale, Eldoret, Mang'aria, Mahanga, Pergamo Obede, Nyakach, Kano, Miwani, Kabras and Nakuru among others. All branches were called ministries, reporting to MPD Kivuli I as the Founder and High Priest of AINC at Nineveh Headquarters.
In 1956, the Colonial Government of Kenya officially registered Nineveh Ministries under one umbrella identified as African Israel Church Nineveh (AICN).
MPD Kivuli taught his followers how best to embrace his vision an mission orally. Anyone who didn't embrace the same was either. excommunicated or left at will to join another Church, movement or found another Church.
There are more than ten Churches founded from AINC. Because of this reason, African Israel Nineveh Church is a parent to many African Initiated Churches and one of the Founder Churches of Organization of African Instituted Churches (OAIC).
AINC is also a member of the National Christian Council of Churches of Kenya (NCCK), All Africa Conference of Churches (AACC), World Council of Churches (WCC) and Kenya United Independent Churches (KUIC).
